It has provided seniors a place to live independently, safely, and with peace of mind in Canada. It’s not just shelter, it’s stability, belonging, and dignity. Rising costs and limited housing are making it harder for seniors to stay independent. Losing a home means losing control, routine, and dignity.

Sudarshan Gautam is a Nepali-born Canadian mountaineer, motivational speaker, and advocate whose life story has inspired people around the world. His journey is a powerful example of resilience, determination, and the belief that human potential is far greater than the obstacles we face.
Born in a rural village in Nepal, Sudarshan grew up with dreams of building a meaningful life and contributing to his community. But at the age of fifteen, a tragic electrical accident changed everything. Severe electrocution resulted in the loss of both of his arms.
What could have ended his dreams instead became the beginning of a remarkable journey. After summiting Everest without arms, he now runs to help Candian senior citizens to stay at home. Sudarshan Gautam is now running the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend 2026. Across Canada, many seniors face challenges in finding stable and affordable living. Ellwood Housing works quietly every day to ensure that seniors can live with dignity, security, and independence.
